The woman received treatment at Tallaght Hospital.
She was assaulted as she was walking along Cookstown Road in Tallaght between 4.30am and 5.30am on Sunday.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Cookstown Road between 3am and 7am on Sunday to contact them.
In particular, they want to speak to anyone who noticed any unusual or suspicious activity.
