Today is the second and final day of the conference, which is expected to attract over 4,000 attendees by the time doors close this evening.

The winner of the Electric Ireland Spark of Genius Award, which comes with a €100,000 prize fund, will also be named later, following a round of pitches by the finalists.

Over 100 start-ups applied to the competition, however just three companies will make it through to the final later this morning with the overall winner being announced at around 4.45pm.

AOL Chief Executive Tim Armstrong said at the summit today that he is planning further expansion of the company's Irish operation.

Elsewhere at the summit, numerous high-profile speakers will take to the main stage through the day, including film director Barry Sonnenfeld, who will speak about his use of technology on the big screen.

Michael Acton Smith, founder of the company behind Moshi Monsters, will also be interviewed this afternoon, while Luke Wood, the man behind the hugely successful Beats by Dre headphone range, will also address attendees.

The summit closes this evening but will be immediately followed by the Founders event, an invite-only conference for successful entrepreneurs, investors and technology experts.
